Endless smiles. 🧩❤️ Thanks to the generosity of @wentworthpuzzles, children from the @oscar_foundation communities in Mumbai have been enjoying these beautiful mini wooden puzzles. It’s more than just a game, it’s an opportunity to build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and simply experience the joy of play. “In January I met 17 year old Deepak in Yadgir, Karnataka. I noticed he was using sign language. He told me he’d never had a hearing test. Hearing and speech impaired we used our phones to communicate. Today, @rathodsunita02 & @karanchavan202 took Deepak and other OSCAR boys to have hearing tests. Next stop hearing aids. Day 6 of 12 on the trek to Everest Base Camp ⛰️ with Char Pfiffner

Today was one of the toughest yet, three hours hiking uphill through slippery mud, battling the driving rain. But moments like this remind me why I’m here.

Unlike the typical route starting in Lukla, I began my journey in Salleri, following in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa before joining the main trail. I’m currently in Namche Bazaar at 3,400m, reaching Everest Base Camp (5,364m) on 12th May

So far, together we’ve raised £1,360 for @oscar_foundation Foundation ❤️

I first heard about OSCAR while @bradfield_college and during my gap year I wanted to do something meaningful to support their mission. OSCAR uses football to inspire education and create real change for young people in Mumbai’s underserved communities, a message I strongly believe in.

Every step on this trek has been challenging, but knowing it’s helping support such impactful work keeps me going.

Child Sponsorship enables the OSCAR Foundation to make a significant impact in low income communities. Sponsoring a child ensures underprivileged boys and girls access the education they deserve. An educated child avoids early marriage, youth pregnancy and addiction and is mobilised to make changes in their communities. OSCAR uses football to engage youth and enrol them in education, football and life skills programmes. Child Sponsorship is the key to development and progress for future generations.
